Karen reported to the police that Jim had raped her. Meanwhile, Buki continued to care for baby Baxter and convinced Mark to take her and Crystal to the park with their children. Frustrated with the harsh conditions of prison, Crystal tried to escape from Mark but was caught. In an effort to keep baby Zandra safe, she later sent her home with Josh. The canteen faced shortages due to Cassie's scam, and Roisin informed Yvonne that Cassie had a crush on her. After some convincing from Neil, Karen decided to withdraw her charges against Jim. Acknowledging his debt to Neil, Jim resigned from his position as wing governor, leaving the role available for Karen. Maxi, behaving quite differently, was upset when Tina continued to reject her. Buki was heartbroken to discover that baby Baxter had passed away overnight, revealing to Mark that the baby she had abandoned was actually alive, not stillborn.
