Episode Overview

While Black Rock Shooter battles a vast army led by Dead Master, Yomi starts to act oddly at school, impulsively cutting her hair during class, which worries Mato. Yomi even lashes out at Kagari. Meanwhile, Yuu grows suspicious of Saya's behavior, and Mato experiences vivid dreams of the conflict between Black Rock Shooter and Dead Master. The next day, when Mato visits Saya, she unexpectedly tries to strangle her, leaving Mato baffled. After noticing a painting Yomi made of her, Mato realizes that Yomi's pain stems from her. She then discovers that no one on the basketball team remembers Yuu, and her own memories of her friend seem fabricated. Yuu confronts Mato, revealing that the dream world is real and that the beings there embody the sorrow of their real-life counterparts. If Dead Master is defeated, Yomi would forget her entirely. Yuu offers Mato an alternative to fighting and puts her into a deep sleep, immersing her in Black Rock Shooter
