Pop shows up in court facing charges of sexual harassment, but the case takes a turn when Uncle Perce, Pop's brother and a hotel porter in London, reveals Mrs. Perigo’s reputation as a notorious seductress in the city, leading to her discrediting and the dismissal of the case. On the day of Mariette's wedding to Charley, the absence of Charley’s family means that the Larkins' friend, the Brigadier, steps in as best man. Meanwhile, he finds himself getting quite close to another family friend, the charmingly flirtatious Angela Snow.
