Episode Overview
Steve and Brandon head to the Olympics, but their road trip takes a detour when their car breaks down in Hadley City, Texas. Steve opts to take a bus to Houston to catch a flight and surprise Clare, only to find out she’s already headed to San Antonio to do the same for him. Fortunately, a weather delay allows them to reunite in San Antonio. Meanwhile, Brandon develops a bond with Mariah, a young black woman who quits her job as an assistant librarian after facing harassment from her boss due to their friendship. This relationship sparks tension with some locals, including Mariah's ex-boyfriend. Inspired by Brandon, Mariah decides to move to New York to pursue her dream of writing a book about angels. Back at work, David's constant criticism of Donna during a video shoot with a difficult singer leads to their boss being fired, and David fears losing his contract, prompting Donna to end their partnership.
