Episode Overview
Underworld Inc. traces the flow of illicit drug money from American trap houses to wholesalers and transporters, ultimately channeling billions into money laundering operations in Mexico. As US authorities intensify their efforts to track down cartel cash, drug lords face the challenge of getting their profits safely into the banking system across the border. Law enforcement targets stash houses and follows vehicles believed to be carrying millions in narcotics. Meanwhile, in Mexico, money launderers employ currency exchanges to convert drug earnings into pesos, which they then invest in shell companies and fake construction ventures. Any local officials who investigate these operations are met with threats, cartel-style.
