The gang takes the reins of the school's news broadcast, with both Kacey and Molly eager to become Head Reporter. Stevie, as the producer, chooses Molly for her serious demeanor, leaving Kacey feeling overlooked. Determined to prove herself, Kacey seeks to outshine Molly. Stevie allows a competition, but when Molly delivers a compelling report about the pool's chlorine levels, Kacey struggles to find an equally impactful story. In a desperate bid to win, Kacey goes live with a rumor that sends the school into chaos. Realizing the 'fungus' she discovered is just harmless mold, Kacey feels pressured by her bandmates to confess to Stevie, especially since the football team is using Gravity 5's practice space while the gym is closed.
