Emma's struggle with her darker tendencies is casting a shadow over everyone. When she discovers that Maleficent’s daughter, Lily, is actually her best friend from her foster care days, Emma is determined to find her and reunite her with her mother. Teaming up with Regina, they embark on a quest to locate Lily and alert Robin to Zelena’s plans. However, they are unprepared for the challenges that await them in the outside world. Back in Storybrooke, Gold finds himself facing a crisis involving Belle. In a flashback, young Emma's promising new life with her foster family is thrown into turmoil by Lily's unexpected arrival.
