Episode Overview

A playwright named Maury is relentlessly pursued by his landlord for overdue rent. Following the sudden death of his partner from a heart attack, Maury wishes to become the greatest playwright of all time, which results in him being mysteriously transported back to meet Shakespeare. Meanwhile, during a scorching summer in the 1930s, a mother and her son take a leisurely drive through the countryside, only to cross paths with a peculiar man seeking a ride. In another storyline, four friends gather for a poker night, joined by a substitute for their fifth member, Nick. They soon realize that Nick possesses a peculiar talent for drawing three-of-a-kinds... specifically, 6s. The group comes to the unsettling conclusion that Nick is actually the Devil, there to claim one of their souls. The unfortunate player challenges the Devil to a poker game in hopes of winning his freedom.
