A woman visits a mall with the intention of purchasing a doll, but things take a bizarre turn once the store closes for the night. Meanwhile, a college student has been misplacing her belongings repeatedly, only to uncover the truth when she discovers two time-travelers hiding in her closet. Additionally, a man stuck in a mundane existence dreams of becoming an inventor. He stumbles upon a hidden door in his basement that leads him to a parallel universe. There, he meets his wealthy, famous counterpart from a Victorian era, who shares his sense of ennui. They decide to swap lives and ultimately find lasting happiness.
