Episode Overview
After Amy is moved to criminal court, Bruce remains in juvenile court, leaving her with Spencer, a defiant clerk. Meanwhile, Lauren has a rough start at junior high, but her spirits lift on the second day when she unexpectedly finds a boyfriend who's a year older, much to her mother’s chagrin. As Amy accepts Stuart’s marriage proposal, she begins to experience unsettling nightmares about the wedding. Donna, recently laid off due to budget cuts, steps in to help Peter with his sons while Gillian lies in a coma. Ellen, the new employee at D.C.F., draws on her past as a foster child to assist Maxine with a teenager who has run away. Frustrated with Spencer's attitude, Amy dismisses him and hires Donna, who just graduated from law school. Tensions rise when Amy's predecessor threatens her over her decision to reconsider the suppression of evidence in a capital murder trial. Finally, Gillian wakes up from her coma.
