Amy is in charge of a custody battle for a young boy whose mother believes his shock-jock father, with his Neanderthal-like antics, is putting him at risk. Meanwhile, Maxine learns that switching from patient to therapist doesn’t benefit anyone. Kyle rebuilds his relationship with Heather, offering comfort to her ailing father. Gillian starts to question her feelings for Peter as she forms a new friendship with the dad of one of Ned’s friends. Amy finds herself flustered by David's apparent disinterest in romance and embarrassingly misreads his intentions when she confronts him.
