Peter remains troubled by Maxine's relationship with Ignacio. On the anniversary of his wife’s passing, David invites Amy to join him at a support group meeting. Meanwhile, Maxine helps a young artist in DCF’s care understand the importance of family and the need for love and support. At a bench bar dinner, Amy and David receive unsettling news about Stu that disturbs Amy. Maxine learns about Ignacio's wealth when she meets his mother, ex-wife, and children. Despite attending counseling, Peter and Gillian continue to clash, particularly after Gillian criticizes Peter's band involvement. Amy handles a custody petition from a grandmother seeking to protect a child conceived through a traumatic event. Kyle approaches Peter for guidance on fatherhood after Heather voices her frustrations about his negativity, which leads him to realize her distress when he can't find her to apologize. Amy and David come to an agreement.
