On Jeremy's final day in Mystic Falls, Elena tries to stay strong while they look back on their memories together. Meanwhile, Stefan and Caroline grow closer as they prepare her family cabin for her mother’s final days. As Sheriff Forbes sorts through her office, she turns to Damon to assist with a lingering case involving Elena’s parents. In another part of town, a violent encounter with Enzo leaves Jeremy questioning his decision to stay, while Matt finds himself in jeopardy after Enzo draws him and Sarah Salvatore into his perilous scheme. Finally, Caroline rushes to the hospital upon hearing that her mother’s condition has worsened.
