In search of employment, Grace's job hunt raises concerns for Libby, fearing financial struggles may return. Russell suggests Grace for an assistant position with D.C., but D.C. initially hesitates, worried about her talkative nature and potential attitude problems. However, he eventually offers her the role. Upon starting, Grace immediately proposes changes, prompting D.C. to request she stick to her duties quietly, fearing her outspoken nature might lead to her dismissal. To his surprise, Grace impresses him by negotiating effectively with a difficult delivery man, saving the company money. Meanwhile, Wade struggles with his relationship with Nadine, leading to an angry letter misunderstanding Grace's advice, and he meets Dot, who suggests he needs a haircut.
