Mission: Impossible (1966)

Episode Overview

Paul Shipherd, a U.S. defector, is tasked with analyzing a fail-safe mechanism for a SAC bomber at the Vatzia Institute. The IMF's mission is to retrieve the fail-safe and rescue Shipherd. Jim, posing as the bomber's pilot, suggests that Shipherd consult the manufacturer in Duluth. Meanwhile, Rollin, in a wheelchair, and his "wife" Cinnamon are made to pose as factory representatives. After Jim is freed, Rollin and Cinnamon are captured and compelled to disarm the fail-safe's explosive. Rollin fakes a heart attack, creating a distraction that allows Jim to infiltrate the facility. After Barney sabotages the disposal system, Jim secures the fail-safe and hands it to Barney, who has incapacitated Shipherd. Rollin takes Shipherd's place, concealing the fail-safe in the wheelchair as they exit, with Rollin impersonating Shipherd and walking out alongside Cinnamon.
