Mission: Impossible (1966)

Episode Overview

A mission to save a South African dissident takes a dangerous turn when Doug and his white assistant manage to sneak him out of the hospital, only for the assistant to be shot in the leg. Cut off from the IMF team, he stumbles into a store where a deaf girl realizes that the injured man is Barney in disguise. While the rest of the team successfully gets the dissident to safety, they plan to return for Barney. To distract the authorities, Paris masquerades as a limping white man but is genuinely hurt by two men trying to capture him. Meanwhile, a wounded Barney learns that the girl, Maryana, became psychosomatically deaf after her father, a colleague of the dissident, was killed by government forces. Disguised as police officers, Doug and Jim locate Barney and, along with Maryana, make a dash for a helicopter to cross the border. However, first, they must also rescue the injured Paris.
