Episode Overview
Albert Zembra, the leader of the Mediterranean Syndicate, is facing terminal cancer and intends to hand over his list of opium farms to his preferred successor, Carlos Empori, who is engaged to his granddaughter. Paris poses as a former mobster and reconnects with Eve to strengthen his cover, while Phelps, acting as Zembra's rival, warns Carlos about Paris's ambitions. Meanwhile, Barney orchestrates a staged assassination attempt on Zembra, undermining Carlos's security and making him appear ineffective. In a ruse, Paris and someone impersonating Zembra have a conversation that convinces Carlos he’s the next in line. Carlos aids Jim in abducting Eve, but the plan falters when she reveals she knows Paris is an imposter. Paris risks everything, trusting Eve to keep quiet as the scheme unfolds. She remains silent, Carlos is framed as a traitor, and Zembra ultimately hands over the critical information to Paris.
