A swarm of feral hunting dogs invades Mayberry just as a state investigator arrives to assess Andy’s proposal for increased jail funding. In a bid to protect the dogs from an approaching storm, Barney and Opie take them to the courthouse, unaware that Mr. Somerset is already present. The unexpected gathering sets off a series of comedic complications as the townsfolk try to manage the chaos while Andy navigates the investigator's scrutiny.
