Gilligan's Planet (1982)
Overview
Gilligan's Planet, an animated series from Filmation and MGM/UA Television, aired on CBS during the 1982-1983 Saturday morning lineup. As the second animated spin-off of the beloved sitcom Gilligan's Island, it followed The New Adventures of Gilligan. This show marked Filmation's last foray into Saturday morning cartoons before shifting focus to syndication. Notably, it was the first to display the Lou Scheimer "signature" credit, and the final animated series of the '80s to use Charley Douglass's adult laugh track. In 2012, Animation World Network recognized it as the 57th greatest animated series of all time.
