Episode Overview
Lindsay finds herself nominated for Homecoming Queen, and surprisingly, so does Maria, who initially isn't interested but soon gets caught up in the competition. Mr. B enlists Rachel to tutor Todd Green, the star football player, to ensure he stays eligible. She realizes that while Todd understands her explanations well, he struggles significantly with reading. A spark starts to grow between them. As the Homecoming Queen race intensifies, Ryan and Tommy rally behind Lindsay while R.J. takes charge of Maria's campaign. The rivalry turns messy when Maria is labeled a "traitor" from Valley High. Todd struggles with his upcoming test despite Rachel’s help. After discussing Todd's challenges with Mr. B, they suspect he might have dyslexia. Initially upset with Rachel, Todd eventually overcomes his frustration and successfully passes a verbal makeup exam. In a show of sportsmanship, Lindsay and Maria agree to end the negative tactics and promise to crown the other if they win. Ultimately, Rachel surprises everyone by winning
