Episode Overview

In a communications class, students are tasked with creating a video about their personal heroes. Eric aims to win over cheerleader Heather, but she dismisses him due to his status as a benchwarmer on the football team. Meanwhile, Katie is thrilled that her ex-boyfriend will be visiting soon, causing concern for Nicky. During the weekend's game, Mr. Belding accidentally injures himself, along with a player and a cheerleader on the sidelines. To everyone’s surprise, Eric is called into the game and scores a last-minute touchdown, making him a school hero and catching Heather's attention. Maria and Rachel want to feature him in their documentary, but Eric prioritizes a date with Heather instead. Ryan starts selling T-shirts signed by the newfound hero, while Katie's cheerleading tryouts keep her from spending quality time with Nicky.
