Episode Overview
The Bayside girls swim team is enjoying an undefeated season, led by their highly ranked captain Liz and the talented newcomer Katie. Meanwhile, the boys team, including Nicky and captain Ryan, is struggling. Eric has developed a crush on Shauna, one of the girls. After a disappointing loss to Westwood, the boys feel defeated about their upcoming match against Valley. To help, Eric swaps roles with Maria so they can cover their respective teams for the school radio. As the state finals approach, Liz requests more pool time from Screech, who then reduces the boys' practice hours to boost the girls' chances. Meanwhile, Maria covers the boys, and Ryan and Nicky pull a prank on the girls, claiming NBC Sports is interested in them, which leads to Liz and her teammates landing in detention.
