Episode Overview

Tess and Monica are present as Jim Sullivan, a construction foreman, is unexpectedly let go from his job. Despite his attempts to alert the project managers about safety concerns, he ends up facing their anger instead. Tess reminds Monica that people often define themselves by their jobs rather than their true worth. With this in mind, the angels strive to prevent Jim from making any rash choices. Struggling to find work, Jim reluctantly accepts a low-paying limousine driving gig, anxious about supporting his wife and two daughters. As financial pressures mount, he makes a risky decision based on a colleague's suggestion to drive a dubious but generous client for the night. Although Monica, the limo dispatcher, cautions him against it, the lure of fast cash proves too strong. Jim's passenger, Stuart Deane, remains tight-lipped about his business dealings, and Jim soon discovers too much after their final drop-off.
