Episode Overview

Monica and Tess share a laugh as they gaze at their reflections in the fun house mirrors at the Grazeldi circus. Tess points out that, much like their warped images, the circus thrives on illusions. Davey Tucker appears to fit the circus mold, yet he longs for a normal life. His dad, Leroy, who is an achondroplastic dwarf, works as a clown in the show. With Wally Grazeldi struggling to pay his performers, many are leaving, but Leroy remains loyal. Tess, acting as a "talent scout," suggests Monica take on clown duties, while Andrew would make a great ringmaster. Wally is also on the lookout for a human cannonball, but Leroy turns down the idea due to his fear of confined spaces. As Leroy teaches Monica the art of clowning, she learns about the close bond between Leroy and Davey, especially since Davey lost his mother, who was also a little person, when he was just a baby.
