Episode Overview
Calvin Chillcut, a dedicated storm chaser for the National Severe Storms Lab, faces a tough blow when he’s instructed to stop his work due to a lack of storm activity. Heartbroken, he drowns his sorrows and misses the first tornado in two years. The following day, nursing a hangover, Calvin arrives at the Die Hard Diner just as a significant storm brews nearby. Tess encourages him to stop wallowing and make use of his equipment before the deadline, prompting him to start tracking the storm. He picks up a hitchhiker named Monica, sharing that today is likely his last chance. Just then, a tornado touches down, and as the warning sirens blare, the Sheriff urges everyone in the diner to seek shelter. While some heed his warning, many remain convinced they are safe inside.
