After 15 years of hosting the beloved local show "Breakfast with the Baxters," Betsy and Bud are devastated to find out their program is being cancelled. Just as they’re grappling with this news, two unexpected guests, Monica and Andrew, arrive at their home, claiming to have car trouble. The newcomers provide a much-needed distraction for the Baxters, who have long avoided confronting their own issues while focusing on the show. With their guests present, Bud and Betsy eagerly share the story of their abrupt cancellation. Despite Monica and Andrew urging them to process their grief, Bud insists on moving forward with another Scotch in hand, while Betsy rummages through old boxes for her mother's meatloaf recipe and stumbles upon a baby’s jumper, a painful reminder of a lost child.
