Episode Overview

Allen Lowry is enjoying a fun day at the gym with his wife, Suzanne, and their 17-year-old daughter, Erica. However, their perfect day takes a turn for the worse when Erica suddenly collapses during a basketball game. Rushing to her, Allen and Suzanne find dark bruises on her back. The following day at the hospital, they anxiously await Erica's test results. Dr. Nathans arrives, accompanied by Monica from the organ donor department, bringing devastating news: Erica has leukemia and urgently needs a bone marrow transplant to survive. Allen goes downstairs to get tested for compatibility while Suzanne stays to comfort Erica. As Gloria takes Allen's blood, she explains the slim chances of either parent being a match, noting that a sibling would have been more likely to help.
