Episode Overview
Rose is a devoted mother to Maggie, an oncologist, who also manages her office and tends to meddle in her daughter’s personal life. Anxious to mend the rift in Maggie’s marriage with Brian, Rose has organized a trip to Rome, hoping they will want to join her. She believes that attending Easter Sunday at Vatican Square and hearing the bells of St. Peter's Cathedral will bring about a much-needed miracle. To ensure everything runs smoothly in her absence, she hires Monica as a temporary replacement. However, when a patient named Annie passes away, Maggie is heartbroken and withdraws from Brian, ultimately scrapping their Rome plans. Rose attempts to convince her otherwise, but Maggie lashes out, dismissing her mother's fatigue as a mere sympathy stunt. Yet, the truth is revealed through blood work: Rose has leukemia.
