Episode Overview

Troy finds himself part of the Midsomer Worthy cricket team for their annual showdown against Fletchers Cross when tragedy strikes. The wife of Robert Cavendish, the team's captain and prominent landowner, is brutally murdered with a cricket bat. As the investigation unfolds, the body count rises. The situation escalates when the team’s scorer is discovered stabbed with a Nazi dagger during the next match. With Cavendish’s history of workplace accidents leading to fatalities, motives for revenge come into question. Additionally, a protest to preserve footpaths across Cavendish's estate takes a perilous turn when a footbridge is sabotaged, leaving their leader submerged.
