Episode Overview
A string of seemingly unrelated fatalities occurs, each victim being crushed and draped in wet, slimy Spanish Moss. As Kolchak digs deeper, he uncovers that all the victims are connected to Paul Langois, an irritable Cajun man. However, Langois has a solid alibi—he’s been undergoing a sleep study that has kept him unconscious for weeks. Eventually, Kolchak realizes that Langois’ deep sleep has inadvertently summoned a nightmarish creature from the Cajun bayou: Peremalfait, a massive beast cloaked in Spanish Moss that squeezes its victims to death. To stop this entity, Kolchak must venture into Chicago's sewers armed with a spear made of bayou gum wood, the only weapon capable of defeating Peremalfait.
