Overview

At East Shinjuku Night High School, students face unique hurdles. Taketo, a troubled delinquent, finds himself ensnared in a downward spiral, while Angela, a Filipina-Japanese student, grapples with academic difficulties. Kasumi often seeks refuge in the infirmary during classes, and Shozo had to abandon his education to support his family. Under the mentorship of their new science teacher, Fujitake, this diverse group comes together to collaborate on a groundbreaking experiment aimed at an upcoming academic conference, discovering both science and themselves along the way.
