Following Kota's destruction of the experimental device, Taketo finds himself in conflict with the other members of the club. As attendance dwindles, the science club begins to disintegrate. Gazing at the shattered device, Taketo laments, "I thought I had learned to accept defeat." Not long after, he stops attending school altogether. Fujitake, recalling a similar event from seven years prior, feels remorse for guiding Taketo toward this outcome and decides to take action...
