Episode Overview

Jennifer is dealing with a burn on her finger and a fragmented memory. Two detectives are rigorously questioning her about a shooting she witnessed. As they press her, her scattered recollections begin to form a clearer story. Jennifer, a reporter for the trendy magazine Curb, met real estate developer Clay Martin in an elevator at her workplace. He invited her to a party where she encountered his best friend, Alex, and Monica. Alex, defying his mother, had been searching for his biological father. Despite tensions over Alex's ex-girlfriend now dating Clay, they managed to mend their friendship. Later, during an intimate conversation, Alex revealed he planned to return home with yellow roses and an apology for his mother. Coincidentally, Jennifer was present when Clay showed Alex an antique gun that, while appearing unloaded, had a live round in the chamber.
