Ellery finds himself a prime suspect in the murder of a comic book publisher after a heated dispute regarding his portrayal in the comics. As the investigation unfolds, a dying clue seemingly implicates him. Determined to prove his innocence, Ellery takes it upon himself to dig deeper into the case. Meanwhile, Ole Frank Flannigan is also present, eager to claim some of the spotlight for himself.
