S02E04 The Blood of the Goddess
Episode Overview
Just as Menelaus is about to strike down Paris, Aphrodite swoops in and saves him from certain death. Zeus, watching from above, is enraged by the gods' involvement in the conflict, yet finds himself powerless to stop it. Meanwhile, Athena re-enters the fray, empowering the young king Diomedes with fierce anger and the ability to tell gods apart from mortals. He boldly confronts Aphrodite, wounding her hand as she tries to protect her son Aeneas. Diomedes then battles Ares, the god of war, who has come to defend Aphrodite’s honor. Amidst the chaos, Achilles remains aloof, strumming his lyre in his tent.
