In 1984, Tampa, Florida, law enforcement uncovers the bodies of several murder victims, all bearing signs of severe sexual abuse, indicating a serial killer is at large. The only clues the investigators have are tiny red fibers believed to originate from the killer's vehicle. A significant break in the case occurs when these same fibers are discovered on teenage rape survivor Lisa McVey. Despite enduring a blindfold and repeated assaults, Lisa's account proves crucial in identifying her assailant. The culprit is revealed to be Bobby Joe Long, an X-Ray technician known for his unsettling behavior in Tampa's hospitals. When confronted with evidence linking him to the crimes, Long confesses and recounts the gruesome details of each murder.
