On November 5, 2009, at Fort Hood, Texas, the largest U.S. military base, soldiers are lined up for their final medical checks before heading overseas. Suddenly, a man in uniform pulls out a handgun and opens fire, resulting in 13 deaths and 32 injuries. The rampage is stopped when a civilian police officer shoots the assailant, identified as Major Nidal Hasan, an Army psychiatrist. As investigators dig into his background, they learn Hasan, a son of Palestinian immigrants, faced bullying after 9/11, leading him to withdraw socially.
