Episode Overview
Cody’s passion for reading leads him to spoil the endings of stories for JT, Al, and Carol, and he accidentally ruins desserts for Dana by crushing them under a pile of books. Despite this, he lands a gig as a story reader for young kids at the library. He turns story time into a blast and even helps one of Brendan's friends learn to read. Meanwhile, while doing their taxes, Frank discovers that Carol earned more than he did last year. Feeling anxious about his role as the family's provider, he searches for a part-time job. His quest leads him to don a chicken costume and hand out coupons for a local fried chicken joint. Ultimately, Carol reassures him that he’s an amazing partner and father, and that’s what truly matters to her.
