Episode Overview
The episode opens in a desert where a group of surveyors is excavating a cave. One of the men discovers a jar buried deep in the ground. As he opens it, he finds a scroll inside, which begins to emit a red glow. Enchanted by its light, he falls under its spell and brutally kills his two companions. Meanwhile, at the Legacy House, Derek informs the team that an old acquaintance, Randolph Hitchcock, intends to donate an ancient artifact to the Luna Foundation and wishes to meet them that evening. Upon Randolph's arrival, Derek reveals that Randolph was once part of the Legacy but was ousted years ago. He presents Derek with the jar from the desert, and Derek opens it to reveal the glowing scroll. Randolph requests the Legacy to study and preserve it. The scene shifts to a dock, where a masked man clutches a silver cross.
