Shep and Raul rush a group of twelve neglected and underfed children to the ER, creating a whirlwind of activity. Shep encounters Malik and Benton after unintentionally making a racially insensitive comment. Carter's excitement over Mrs. Rubadoux's admission turns to disappointment as she fails to improve. Tensions rise between Jeanie and Carol when Jeanie receives an unfavorable performance review. Al pleads with Jeanie for another opportunity.
