The museum's female director enlists one of the security guards to orchestrate a robbery for the sake of insurance profits. However, things take a deadly turn when she murders him and her own brother, staging their deaths to make it look like they killed each other. The guard's sibling receives a suspicious voicemail, hinting at his demise. Enter Columbo, who, upon arriving at the scene, observes the lights turned off, a gold medallion found in the guard's trousers, and evidence suggesting he was planning to flee after the heist. Columbo deduces that another party must be involved in this sinister plot.
