Episode Overview

After launching a surprise attack on Black Kettle's camp, General Custer strides into town with wounded soldiers and Indian captives, including Cloud Dancing. He threatens Dr. Mike, demanding she tend to his men before assisting the injured braves. Later, as Dr. Mike treats Cloud Dancing’s broken arm while he’s still in chains at the livery, Custer mockingly parades him in front of a firing squad that fires blanks. Seizing the moment, Dr. Mike and Sully orchestrate Cloud Dancing's escape. Meanwhile, Olive opens a Hurdy Gurdy, bringing in girls from the immigrant camp and persuading a hesitant Loren, Horace, and Jake to join the band. Matthew buys all of Ingrid's dance tickets but shyly admits he doesn’t know how to dance, while Robert E. and Grace share knowing glances, with Robert E. still feeling the sting from The Visitor.
