Episode Overview

Matthew's shocking declaration that he intends to marry Ingrid shakes up his relationship with Dr. Mike, who believes he is too immature for such a commitment. To assert his independence, he persuades Sully and Cloud Dancing to let him participate in a four-day Cheyenne ceremony. This pushes Dr. Mike to her limit, leading her to confront Sully before she storms off in search of Matthew. Meanwhile, Ingrid's asthma flares up, and Dr. Mike's disapproval of their engagement complicates her care. When Dr. Mike finds Matthew during his rite of passage, he appears centered, prompting her to let him complete the ceremony in peace. Eventually, Dr. Mike and Matthew come to an understanding, with him choosing to postpone the wedding and her offering him her engagement ring for Ingrid.
