Episode Overview

After Snowbird gifts Mike an Indian pony named Flash to show her appreciation for her help at the reservation, Mike attempts to sign up for the Territory Stakes Race. However, race officials Loren and Jake refuse to let a woman participate. Dr. Cassidy arrives from Denver with his champion horse, dismissing Mike when she tries to connect with him as a fellow professional. When Dr. Cassidy's rider, Drew, suffers a head injury that Mike diagnoses as cranial compression, he stubbornly declines her help. Tragically, Drew dies, igniting Mike's determination to race disguised as a man. Meanwhile, encouraged by Grace, Brian enters a pie-baking contest, facing doubt from Colleen and Loren. To everyone’s surprise, he wins. Mike gives it her all in the race but is disqualified when her true identity is uncovered, leading to Hank's victory on Dr. Cassidy’s horse.
