Episode Overview

David Watkins, a photographer from the Civil War era, arrives in Colorado Springs. Dr. Mike identifies David’s diabetes but feels exasperated when he refuses treatment, knowing it will lead to blindness. David proposes capturing a portrait of the town, sparking a heated debate over who should be included. When the camera gear is accidentally destroyed, the entire community rallies together to construct a new camera and snap the picture before David loses his sight. Meanwhile, Horace’s mother, Mrs. Bing, comes to town gravely ill. Initially disapproving of Myra, she changes her mind upon realizing the depth of their love and, on her deathbed, gives her blessing for their marriage.
