Episode Overview

Roger Varley arrives at Winkstead Hall to assist in cleaning both Bessie the steam engine and Binnie the pumping engine. While he’s busy with Binnie, Brackett the butler enters to report that the water level at Winkstead Hall is critically low. The only solution is to get the pumping engine running by burning coal, but they’ve run out. They call Mr. Swallow at Treddles Wharf to arrange for coal, but he informs them they must come to collect it. They hop on Bessie, head to the wharf for the coal, and then return to Winkstead Hall. With the fresh supply of coal, Binnie can start pumping again. Just then, the biscuit factory whistle signals the start of the six o'clock dance.
