Meanwhile, Tsurumi confronts Nikaid?, compelling him to reveal the traitors within the 7th Division after brutally severing Nikaid?’s ear, though Ogata manages to slip away. In a different location, Shiraishi is suddenly snatched by a gigantic huchen while trying to cross a river, but Kiroranke, a former ally of Asirpa's father, comes to his rescue. Kiroranke discloses that Asirpa's father is Nopperabo and currently imprisoned in Abashiri. Together, they set off towards Abashiri to face him.
