Episode Overview

Tanigaki updates Asirpa on Huci's deteriorating condition, but Asirpa insists on pressing forward with the gold hunt. They are soon joined by Ryu, Nihei's dog, who has picked up the trail of his late owner’s gun now held by Tanigaki. Meanwhile, Tsurumi reveals to Koito the dark reality behind Lt. General Kōjirō Hanazawa's death, the former leader of the 7th. Hanazawa had abandoned his illegitimate son, Ogata, which drove his mistress to madness. In a twisted chain of events, Ogata poisoned his mother, killed his legitimate half-brother during the Battle of 203 Hill, and ultimately staged his father's death to look like a ritual suicide, using it to rally the 7th against the government.
