Episode Overview

Tom Newcombe, a known troublemaker, faces execution by hanging for the murder of a woman after local schoolteacher Celia Ames (Colleen Dewhurst) declines to provide him with an alibi. Shortly after, a mysterious newcomer named Paul Taylor (Hugh O'Brien) arrives in town, takes a job at Shiloh Ranch, and starts courting Celia. However, his unusual actions soon catch the attention of Judge Garth and the local Sheriff, who begin to question the true intentions of this enigmatic stranger.
