S01E05 Lake Bennett House
Episode Overview
For 17 years, Trevor and Francoise Sullivan have called an open-sided shed home, living with their two kids and a variety of animals on 33 sprawling acres at Lake Bennett, just south of Darwin. Despite their financial struggles, they’ve held onto the dream of a stunning home, which they’ve designed together: a cyclone-resistant treehouse shaped like a 50-cent coin, with no windows. Trevor, a skilled woodcarver, is constructing it himself, including the furniture, with help from generous friends. Progress is slow, but he has completed a stunning central staircase made from a fallen Paperbark Tree. The looming question remains: will they finish the roof before the wet season starts?
